Cross-cultural

Communicating across cultures can be one of the most rewarding—and most complex—parts of teaching. Whether you’re working in multilingual classrooms, navigating cultural differences with students and families, or trying to adapt materials to be more inclusive, the challenges of cross-cultural teaching are real. Teachers often find themselves asking: Am I really reaching all my learners? Are my materials culturally sensitive? How can I build stronger connections across cultures?

At the Cross-Cultural Special Interest Group (Cross-Cultural SIG), we explore these questions together. We’re here to share practical strategies, classroom ideas, and personal experiences that help break down communication barriers and create more inclusive learning environments. Whether you’ve been working in multicultural settings for years or are just getting started, our group welcomes your voice and perspective.
