Open Position in Zürich city

Multiple part-time positions available to teach both children and adults

Full-time position - Starting in August 2019

The English School is currently expanding and is looking to hire multiple teachers to work part-time.

We are looking for teachers to teach English as a foreign language to children, pre-teens/teenagers, and adults, as well as to teach phonics to native English-speaking children.

We are specifically looking for:

  • 2-3 teachers who can teach children aged 5-12. Lessons would take place in the afternoons and candidates would ideally be available a minimum of 2 afternoons a week
  • 1 teacher who can teach children aged 3-7 on Wednesday mornings and who is also available to teach a minimum of 1 afternoon per week
  • 1-2 teachers who can teach either teenagers or young adults, and who are available in the afternoons or early evenings
  • 1 teacher for adults, who is available in the evenings
  • 1 teacher for adults, who is available in the mornings
  • A teacher for phonics/further reading and writing skills to teach native English-speaking children

Teachers who can fulfil multiple of the above roles will be preferred.

We are a small language school, free of politics and bureaucracy. We offer our teachers a low stress working environment and lots of support and resources, while giving them the space to use both these resources and their own creativity to plan their own lessons. We pride ourselves on tailoring all our lessons to our individual students’ needs, which our students and their parents have greatly come to appreciate.

We are looking for teachers with the following qualifications:

  • A love of teaching
  • A passion for working with children
  • CELTA, qualified primary or secondary school teacher, or equivalent experience
  • A native speaker or equivalent, capable of teaching without a strong regional accent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

While extensive teaching experience is always a benefit, we know that everyone must begin their teaching journey somehow, so newly qualified, committed, and passionate teachers will also be considered.
