Meet the Public School Teachers SIG leader: Bettina Coppens
Born and raised in Switzerland, Bettina studied English language and literature in Amsterdam and holds an MA in English Linguistics and an MA in Education (Teaching English). In 2011 she came back to Switzerland and since then has taught mainly English at Swiss public schools at college level. In addition to teaching mandatory curricula she has successfully prepared many teenagers for the Cambridge Language Exams and enjoyed being a mentor teacher for many years.
Currently Bettina is teaching part-time as she became a member of the Erziehungsrat in Canton Aargau in 2021 and also started studying psychology via an online university programme. Bettina’s main interests lie in teaching teenagers and young adults, interacting with fellow teachers from various schools as well as being engaged in the bigger picture of teaching through several teacher associations, the Department of Education, Sport and Culture in Canton Aargau and now ETAS.
