Meet the Young Learners & Teens SIG leaders: Marie Körn & Camelia Dimov

Marie is originally from the UK, and began her career as a Systems Analyst and trainer in the energy sector. After moving to Switzerland in 2012, what started as teaching English one-on-one soon evolved into a passion for working with young learners and teenagers, especially in preparing them for the Cambridge B1 and B2 exams.
She now teaches in a public school association supported by the school and local authorities, a project that not only supports children aged 5 to 11 but also strengthens the wider community.
As the joint coordinator of the Young Learners & Teens SIG, Marie is excited to be part of the ETAS Team and lives by her motto:
“Young Learners and Teens Facing the Future Together.”
Outside the classroom, Marie loves to paint and enjoys long walks in nature.

Camelia began her teaching career in Romania, her home country, where she taught English in a public high school. She then moved to France, just across the border from Geneva, and taught there for two years. CELTA-certified and later qualified as a public-school teacher, she now teaches in two schools in Geneva.
She holds a Master’s in British Cultural Studies (Romania) and a Master’s in English Language and Literature (Switzerland). An ETAS member since 2019, she values the energy of this community and is glad to be part of it. She tries to keep up with the latest in teaching, especially practical ideas that work with teens.
Camelia loves nature, board games, discovering new places and meeting new people.
