|Workshop Presenter: Geoff Tranter
In higher education, Business English (BE) courses are often based on important workplace-related communication skills as students have little work experience. This practical workshop will show how to develop skill-based lessons on global issues relating to economics and the business world, an example being “Burgernomics” to also incorporate critical skills. The takeaway will be a strategy for creating your own courses without having to depend on a coursebook full of outdated topics that few students are interested in.
Geoff teaches Business Communication Skills at B2/C1 level at the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany. He has a wide experience in a number of ESP areas and is a regular contributor to IATEFL Conferences. He coordinates BESIG activities in Poland.
