37th Annual Conference and AGM, Online 2021

Professional development in times of adversity

Registration is now open!

Saturday note:

Good morning! If you have already registered, please check your email for the log in information. You should have received a message on Thursday evening from with the subject line How to join the 2021 ETAS Annual Conference! If you have any issues logging in to Gather Town, please contact and we will assist you. If you register today (it's not too late!), please contact and our administrator will send you the details when she gets your email. Have a great day everyone and see you in Gather Town!

The events team has put together a fantastic programme which includes two plenaries and an offer of 15 workshops that cover a range of topics, which we are sure will enrich your teaching and ensure that you have a fun, fruitful day of professional development. Click on the programme below for the full schedule and details.

Our AGM will be the evening before, and we are very pleased that Diccon Bewes (author of Swiss Watching and Slow Train to Switzerland) will be the pre-AGM speaker. Diccon will entertain us on Friday, January 15th from 18:30 to 19:30 with the AGM beginning at 19:30. All current ETAS members can attend Diccon's talk and the AGM, which will be hosted in a Zoom meeting (you must be logged in as a current member to view the AGM page linked below).

We are excited to once again be able to virtually find old friends, mingle and visit the virtual book exhibition in Gather Town. Gather Town is the virtual conference hall we used for the 2020 Online Professional Development Day and it has been made even better since then. The plenaries and workshops will be held in Zoom meetings which can be accessed within the Gather Town space.

We would like to say thank you to all our sponsors who have supported us over the years -  without you, we would not be able to hold any of our events. We are very grateful for your support in sponsoring speakers, and taking part in the virtual book exhibition in Gather Town during the conference. We hope to see you all face to face at our book exhibition in Gümligen in September 2021. (Covid-19 permitting!) Until then, a huge thank you from us all here at ETAS.

All that remains is to send you and your family best wishes for a happy, healthy festive season from all of us at ETAS.

Remember to gift yourselves some professional development this Christmas and see you in Gather Town on January 16th, 2021.

Late registration is still available (CHF10 late fee)!

*final workshop schedule may be subject to minor changes, attendees will be informed the day of the event
