Hazel was born and grew up in Dublin, Ireland before moving to Canada when she was 17. She studied sociology at York University in Canada with one year at a British university. As part of her world tour, she has lived in Geneva, Melbourne, Tokyo and Luxembourg before settling in Baselland with her family. After years of learning foreign languages, she got coaxed into teaching EFL.

Qualifications and Experience

In addition to attending many ETAS workshops, she has acquired the CELTA, CertTEB and a Swiss secondary school teaching qualification at Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz and Basel University. She teaches teenagers and adults in private and state schools as well as in-company business English.

Special Interest Areas

She is particularly interested in learning skills and motivation with a classroom emphasis on speaking.
