Elizabeth is originally from Florida in the United States where she studied, practiced and taught nursing at the university level for several years. Upon marrying she transplanted to Switzerland, where she was surrounded with the study of the German language and branched into studies of the English language. Funnily enough when thinking of careers, English was always her favorite subject but she realized she couldn't make a living from it so she studied nursing. :-) Needless to say she has always been a "book" person.
Qualifications and Experience
She has taught English and business English for over 19 years and is presently working with teenagers at the Berufsbildungszentrum Solothurn-Grenchen and adults at the Volkshochschule Solothurn. She earned the Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults in 1995 and Certificate in Teaching English for Business in 1997. She has also attended numerous workshops/courses to improve her teaching skills.
She has been member of ETAS since 1991 and served as one of the Regional Coordinators of Baden for 9 years stepping down last year after the successful completion of SIG Day.
Special Interest Areas
She looks forward to working with the Teacher Development Chair and ETAS Administrator in maintaining and improving the ETAS library to meet members' needs and requests.
